Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Carpet & Floor Fitter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various flooring surfaces, including carpets, vinyl, hardwood and Carpets. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent manual dexterity, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within residential and commercial settings, ensuring high standards of quality and safety are maintained throughout.

Responsibilities

Measure and prepare floors for installation using appropriate tools and techniques
Cut, fit, and secure carpets, vinyl, laminate, or hardwood flooring in accordance with project specifications
Utilise hand tools such as knives, trowels, and chisels to achieve precise fitting
Operate power tools safely for cutting and fitting purposes
Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and installation instructions
Perform surface preparation tasks including levelling and painting as required
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure project specifications are met within deadlines
Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction or flooring installation is highly desirable
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces
Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction or flooring installation are preferred but not essential
To be able to work in a team
