Full job description

Overview
We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our Nursery team. The working hours are 9am to 4:30 Monday to Friday, all year round. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring our kitchen operates smoothly, high quality food is served, dietary needs and preferences are catered for.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Work with the kitchen assistant to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly.
Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering, budgets and stock rotation.
Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas regularly.
Adhere to health and safety regulations while working in the kitchen environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a nursery or similar setting is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Strong culinary skills with an ability to follow recipes accurately.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills.
