Are you a dynamic and inspirational leader with a passion for maritime education and training? South Devon College is seeking an exceptional RYA Centre Principal to lead and develop our Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Training Centre within the renowned South Devon College Marine Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of marine training, driving excellence in teaching, safety, quality assurance and operational performance while ensuring full compliance with RYA standards. Working closely with industry partners, employers and stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing learner success, growing commercial opportunities and strengthening the College’s reputation as a leading provider of marine and maritime education across the region.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced marine training professional with relevant RYA qualifications, a Level 3 qualification (or above) and GCSEs in English and Maths. You will have experience delivering RYA training in a recognised centre, leading instructional teams and maintaining high standards of compliance, quality assurance, health and safety, and safeguarding. With excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills, you will be able to inspire others, manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure. A flexible approach is essential, including occasional evening and weekend work, travel across the South West, and the ability to represent the College professionally with external partners. A full driving licence and access to suitable transport is required.
