Full job description

We are a well-established solicitors’ firm based in a sought-after location in the heart of York.

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our firm. Training will be given where necessary, but some prior office experience is essential and legal experience, particularly in the field of property law, is highly desirable.

The main aspects of this role will be:

· Drafting and amending legal documents; audio typing

· Completing AP1 (land registry) and SDLT (stamp duty land tax) applications

· Dealing with lenders/banks

· Providing secretarial and administrative support to the commercial property fee earners

· Setting up new files and organising closure of completed files

· Requesting property searches/land registry searches

· Deal with client/third party queries

· Assisting on reception

The Ideal candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, have strong organisational skills and good IT knowledge. They will be a team player, willing to be flexible and offer help wherever needed according to business needs, with a good sense of humour and work ethic and be able to organise and prioritise work. They will be confident speaking to clients.

A full time role with a 36.25hr working week Monday to Friday.
