Job description:

An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Senior / Qualified Accountant with a proven track record in private practice for a busy Chartered Accountants office near Paisley. The firm is independently owned and has seen significant growth in recent years with a strong reputation for being passionate about the service and advice offered to clients.

You will have a desire to stand out from the crowd, be passionate about assisting clients and be a great communicator with an aptitude to solving problems and seek solutions to challenges as they are presented.

Main duties and responsibilities:-

Preparing sole trader, partnership and Limited Company accounts to a high standard and ensuring compliance with FRS102 Section 1A and FRS105 UK standards,
Preparing management accounts from trial balance within tight deadlines and development of bespoke reporting packs for clients where needed,
Preparing and reviewing VAT returns including partial exemption,
Preparing corporation tax computations and CT600 returns
Preparing self -assessment tax returns and having suitable general personal tax experience including Capital Gains Tax.
Managing client relationships,
Promoting development of younger team members and reviewing work and providing review feedback.

Skills and Experience:

At least two years experience in a similar role most likely from a small or medium sized practice thus allowing a broad range of experience and knowledge to be brought to the role.

Strong knowledge of accounting systems such as Xero, FreeAgent & TaxCalc.
Good technical knowledge both in accounting standards, disclosure and tax associated with OMB and comfortable with dealing with HMRC,
Personable, warm and confident personality with a positive can do attitude,
Eligibility to work in the UK,
Membership of a UK Chartered Accountancy Body,
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with staff and clients at all levels effectively,
Creative approach to problem solving and ability to balance initiative with seeking help.

This role is based on a 37.5 hour working week, a hybrid working arrangement may be available.

Pay: £42,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
