About Blackfriars Bakery:

Since 1988, Blackfriars has been crafting delicious, long shelf-life bakery treats that customers love. From flapjacks and muffins to cake slices, cookies, and more, every product is individually wrapped for freshness and convenience. All products are proudly baked in our family-owned Wigston bakery.

The role:

As Hygiene Supervisor, you will be helping to maintain and improve our hygiene standards. This is a hands-on role leading a small and friendly team with a clearly defined schedule designed to get the job done. It will be your task to organise and assist your team in completing this schedule.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Making sure that the site is maintained to excellent hygiene standards at all times.

. Planning and organising labour to meet targets and resolving any shift issues.

· Ensuring that the Hygiene Team complete Daily, Weekly and Monthly cleaning schedules.

. Taking an active role in audits and high-profile visits.

. Making sure that equipment and working areas meet pre-production requirements.

· Ensuring that the correct chemicals are used when carrying out cleaning tasks.

· Ensuring that cleaning equipment/utensils are maintained in good condition for all areas.

· Training operatives in all aspects of the role and identifying any training gaps.

· Any other hygiene-related tasks as requested by the Production or Technical Manager.

Please note: Full support and training will be given for all tasks and any additional tasks where necessary.

What we’re looking for:

Great communication skills
Good understanding of Food Safety, Health and Safety and COSHH
Experience in a similar role within food manufacturing
A passion to learn and develop
Resilience and tenacity to drive motivation
Experience in leading and supporting a team of people
Flexible approach to working hours

No agencies.

Working hours: 8am – 4pm/ 10am - 6pm Monday to Friday (with ½ hour break)

Pay - £15.38 per hour

Annual leave – 20 days per year plus bank holidays.
