Full job description

Part-time Administrator, (25 hours per week)

Permanent post

We are looking for an enthusiastic, kind and hardworking individual to join our busy administration team.

Previous General Practice experience is not essential. We are much more interested in finding someone with a positive, can-do attitude who is willing to learn, enjoys working with people and will become a valued member of our team.

Our ideal candidate will be reliable, resilient and organised, with the confidence to multitask and prioritise a varied workload. You should be IT literate, have excellent communication skills, be able to use your own initiative when required and always maintain patient confidentiality.

Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who will fit in with our friendly team. We are conscientious, supportive and hardworking, but we also enjoy having a laugh together and believe a positive working environment makes all the difference.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. Duties will include:

Answering and making telephone calls to patients and external agencies.
Booking appointments and signposting patients to the most appropriate healthcare service.
Processing prescription requests.
Filing and managing clinical correspondence.
Entering and updating information on clinical computer systems.
Providing general administrative support to the practice team.

Hours of work (25 hours per week):

Monday: 8.00am – 6.00pm
Friday: 8.00am – 6.00pm
One additional 7-hour shift, to be worked either:
Wednesday: 8.00am – 4.00pm, or
Thursday: 10.00am – 6.00pm
(Final day to be confirmed.)

Some flexibility to work additional hours to cover annual leave or sickness is essential.
