Overview

Operate large machinery safely and efficiently

Location: Severn Bridge Industrial Estate
Units 10a Norman Way,
Portskewett,
Caldicot NP26 5PT
Hours: Monday–Friday, 22.5 hours a week. 7.5 a day
Additional hours may be required during busy periods. Hours may reduce during quieter periods, depending on business needs.
Salary: £13 per hour

We are looking for a self-motivated Production Operative to support the day-to-day running of our production plant and warehouse, working closely with the Factory Line Manager. This role offers clear opportunities for progression as the business continues to expand.

The Role

This is a hands-on role combining factory production duties with forklift operation, quality control, and general warehouse support.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinating daily production schedules based on equipment availability and labor resources.
Inspecting machinery and equipment regularly to prevent downtime and ensure ongoing operational efficiency.
Monitoring production output and product quality to meet company goals and customer expectations.
Resolving issues and conflicts that may arise on the production floor.
Operate a forklift truck to move raw materials and finished goods
Load raw materials into processing machines, including quality checks
Carry out quality checks on finished products and report any issues
Package and label products accurately
Maintain clean, safe, and obstacle-free production areas
Carry out basic machine maintenance where required
Use basic software systems (e.g. stock control and Microsoft Office)
Work in line with strict health & safety requirements, particularly in a noisy environment

Qualifications & Experience

Previous factory or warehouse experience preferred
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and/or stock control systems
Forklift experience beneficial
