Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bench Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting, assembling, and finishing bespoke wooden windows and doors in our workshop. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry, joinery, and fabrication techniques, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about craftsmanship and precision woodworking to develop their skills within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble bespoke wooden components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised joinery techniques.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce accurate pieces.
Operate various woodworking machinery safely and effectively, including saws, drills, sanders, and lathes.
Finish surfaces by sanding, polishing, or applying protective coatings to meet quality standards.
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects.
Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and standards.

Experience

Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, or carpentry within a workshop or construction setting.
Strong proficiency with hand tools such as chisels, saws, planes, and measuring devices.
Experience operating power tools including drills, routers, sanders, and jointers.
Knowledge of joinery techniques such as dovetailing, mortise-and-tenon joints, and biscuit joining
Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and work on projects requiring physical strength.
Prior experience in construction painting or masonry is desirable but not mandatory. This position provides an engaging environment for those committed to craftsmanship with opportunities for skill development across various trades related to woodworking and construction.
