Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. As Head Chef, you will oversee all kitchen operations, ensure food safety standards are maintained, and inspire creativity within your team to produce high-quality dishes that delight our guests. This is a paid position that offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents and manage a dynamic kitchen environment.

This is a Brand new Site for Barton Investors Group Ltd (The White Horse Launceston), Taking new menus and food experience to a great pub.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
Oversee all aspects of food production, from sourcing ingredients to final plating
Develop innovative menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and customer preferences
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills and promote a positive team environment
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to uphold quality standards and resolve any issues promptly
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation within the kitchen environment

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
Excellent team management and leadership abilities, capable of motivating staff under pressure
Deep understanding of food safety standards and regulations
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Experience in menu development, food presentation, and hospitality service
Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and management
Knowledge of restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer service principles
