Full job description

As a Material Preparation and Sash Line Technician you will spend your time in either the Material Preparation or Sash Line departments being part of the production team making our high quality timber windows and doors.

In Material Preparation you will work on an array of machines preparing the material for machining and in the Sash Line you could find yourself pressing sashes, fitting glazing bars or finishing sashes prior to them being coated. In this multiskilled role you will need a balance of a good work ethic including some heavy lifting/physical work, and ensure the machines are set right to machine the timber to size. The role requires good hand skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work consistently to quality and productivity targets within a factory environment. Key responsibilities

· Use the cross cut, ripping and planing machines to produce PAR items to dimensions.

· Accurately fit glazing bars to timber window sashes in accordance with drawings, specifications, and work instructions

· Ensure glazing bars are correctly aligned, fixed, and finished to meet visual and quality standards

· Use machine and hand tools, jigs, and fixtures safely and effectively

· Carry out repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality and focus

· Inspect own work to ensure it meets required tolerances and finish standards

· Identify and report defects, damage, or non-conformances to the supervisor

· Work efficiently to meet production targets without compromising quality

· Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area

· Follow all health & safety procedures and safe systems of work

· Support other sash line operations when required

Other Responsibilities

· To carry out other reasonable tasks as necessary to enable the production department to function efficiently

Normal Hours of Work

· 7am – 4pm Mon - Fri

· Additional hours agreed as and when required to meet the needs of the business

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
