Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated kitchen assistant to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about service excellence and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will hold a Food Handling and Hygiene Level 2 Certificate.

Responsibilities:

· Preparation and cooking of food for that day

· Meal service

· Keeping all work surfaces clean and tidy

· Washing all pots, pans etc

· Washing floors after the day’s meals

· Defrosting and cleaning freezers and fridges

· Preparation of afternoon beverage trolley

· Clean daily – over, cooker, grill, microwave, dishwasher and hot plate

· Weekly cleaning of deep fat fryer

· Cleaning of food stores before putting new stock away

· Cleaning of walls every two weeks

· Cleaning of window frames once a week

You will work as a member of a team and this may involve you in duties other than those for which you are primarily employed. Amongst other things we will expect you to:

· Work efficiently, conscientiously and safely, maintaining our high standards of care and services

· Be patient, gentle and courteous to residents and members of their families

· Carry out all reasonable duties and instructions

· Report any hazards of dangerous events and suspected or observed mistreatment of residents by others

· Care for property belonging to the home and residents

· . Understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Homes Health & Safety policy, and all Emergency procedures including Fire & Evacuation.

· . Report to the Registered Manager, or the maintenance Person, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.

· . Promote safe working practices in the home.

· . Ensure that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of your duties is not divulged to third party or through social media.

· . Notify the Registered Manager or the Person in Charge, as soon as possible of your inability to work, also your return to work from periods of absence.

· . Ensure the security of the care home is maintained at all times

· . Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within defined time scales.

· Carry out any other tasks that maybe reasonably assigned to you.

Pay: £12.90 per hour
