Full job description

We are looking for someone to join our team within the Robins Restaurant in Launceston. This role is to ensure customers’ expectations of all food, beverages and customer service are exceeded. This will include, but not limited to any aspect of the restaurant operation including service, food preparation, equipment, facilities, cleaning, health and safety, along with any other reasonable task to be undertaken.

This role does include weekends, with at least every other weekend or atleast one of the weekend days a week worked. Days off to be confirmed. Mostly 8am starts with the flexibility to work from 9am on some occasions. Kitchen work will be roughly half of these days. Monday - Saturday 8 am* - 5pm and 9am - 4:30pm Sundays. * Some 9am starts.

Key Responsibilities

To provide hospitality to all users of the restaurant.
To be an active and supportive team member, contributing in a constructive manner and treating all team members and customers with fairness and courtesy.
To work in a way that is consistent with the Company’s vision.
To provide excellent customer service, serving customers promptly, courteously and with a smile.
Ensuring that food and drink served to customers is of a consistently high standard and is well presented.
To develop knowledge of products and share that knowledge with the team
Maintain a clean & tidy environment in the restaurant and preparation areas including washing up.
To assist in the set up, set down and cleaning of the restaurant and kitchen according to procedure on a daily basis and as required.
To assist the Line Manager with the preparation of food and customer orders.
To be responsible for the cash handling processes within the restaurant.
Undertakes regular administrative tasks where necessary
Carries out other tasks as required by the Department Manager in line with the overall purpose of the post and the nature of Homeleigh Garden Centre.

Health and Fire Safety

To fully comply with all Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations and compliance of Company Health & Safety Procedures at all times.

Essentials

Experience in food preparation
Strong communication skills
Positive with a can do attitude
Willingness to be flexible
Attention to detail
Enjoys working with others as a team and receptive and listens to others
High standards of personal and food hygiene
Commitment to great customer service and aims to exceed customers' expectations
Solid communication and interpersonal and telephone skills and Basic administration skills
Appreciates the unique nature of Homeleigh Garden Centre and able to work as a team.
Proven ability to work effectively without direct supervision and shows initiative and is self-motivated
An honest and reliable individual with a polite manner, and a calm and professional attitude
A team-player who is personable and has the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels both internally and externally
Able to sustain a proactive worth ethic throughout the day
