We are seeking a passionate and driven assistant psychologist eager to grow both professionally and personally as part of our dynamic team, amidst an exciting phase of change and service development. A collaborative team player with excellent time management and organisational skills.

Join our compassionate and collaborative Primary Care Network Psychology Team in Telford & Wrekin, where we take pride in fostering a supportive, innovative, and nurturing team culture. We are dedicated to encouraging creativity and continuous improvement as we expand and enhance our services.

You will join the newly established Primary Care Network Psychology Team, contributing to the design, development, delivery and evaluation of group interventions tailored to meet the needs of the Telford & Wrekin community.

Our group interventions service supports clients with severe and enduring mental health issues who do not meet the criteria for IAPT or Adult Community Mental Health Teams. While we primarily offer group interventions, one-to-one interventions are available in specific circumstances. We work closely with other mental health teams and services.

You will benefit from the strong psychological support network within the Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin Care Group, including a large Assistant Psychologists team, and opportunities to shadow and work with experienced psychologists.

You will support and enhance psychological care by assisting qualified practitioners in developing, delivering and evaluating psychological interventions that align with Trust and Directorate objectives, national policies and strategic guidelines, commissioner requirements, and the needs and expectations of service users and carers.

You will play an active role in developing and co-facilitating group programs, while supporting the delivery of high-quality psychological care under the supervision of qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologists.

You will support colleagues with psychological assessments and interventions. There will be opportunities to work independently within a plan agreed upon with the supervising Psychologist and adhering to the service's policies and procedures.

You will engage with staff within primary and secondary care mental health services and VCSE organisations.

Additionally, you will assist with clinically related administrative tasks, audits, statistical collection, and the development of audit, research projects, or project-based initiatives.
