Description

We are currently looking for an Installation & Fabrication Technician to join our Hayward Gallery Operations team on a 24 hour per week part time contract.

You will work within the Hayward Gallery Operations team, which is part of the Visual Arts department. You will participate in the installation, de-installation and maintenance of Hayward Gallery exhibitions and also on other visual arts projects around the Southbank Centre. A large part of the role is the fabrication of exhibition displays as well as working on fabrication aspects of Hayward commissions.

The annual salary stated is based on the Full-Time Equivalent (40 hours per week). If the job is part-time, the weekly hours will be stated within the advert.

Key Responsibilities

Art handling, including packing, unpacking, writing packing notes, installation and de-installation to museum standard.

To work alongside freelancers, plus supervising smaller projects during the main turnaround of the galleries

Skills & Experience

Knowledge of art handling best practice and experience of handling a range of artworks in a gallery or similar environment.

Experience of working within Health & Safety guidelines.
