Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Window Fitters Mate to assist experienced window fitters in installing, repairing, and maintaining windows across various construction sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the construction industry, working alongside skilled tradespeople. The successful candidate will be involved in supporting the installation process, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and contributing to high-quality workmanship on every project.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and organisation of tools and materials required for window installation projects.
Support the fitting team in measuring and marking window openings accurately.
Help with the lifting, manoeuvring, and positioning of windows and related components.
Follow safety protocols at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist in sealing, weatherproofing, and finishing work to ensure optimal performance of installed windows.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment during and after tasks.
Support with other general construction duties as directed by supervisors.

Skills

Experience or familiarity with construction-related tasks such as roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, plastering, masonry, or carpentry is advantageous.
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used within the construction industry.
Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings relevant to window installation projects.
Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices.
Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure precise measurements and installations.
Physical fitness to lift heavy materials and work at heights if necessary.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different site requirements. This position provides valuable experience within the construction sector, offering opportunities for career development alongside experienced tradespeople in a professional environment. Applicants should be organised, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute effectively to team efforts on-site.
