Job Summary
NIPA Steakhouse is seeking an experienced Steak Chef (Grill Chef) to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing and cooking high-quality steaks and grilled dishes, ensuring exceptional standards of food presentation and flavour. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic restaurant environment, delivering memorable dining experiences to our guests. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the highest levels of food safety and hygiene while demonstrating excellent culinary skills.

Duties

Prepare and cook steaks and grilled dishes to meet specified recipes and presentation standards
Oversee the entire meal preparation process, ensuring timely service during busy periods
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grill station in accordance with food safety regulations
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure perfect results every time
Assist with food preparation tasks such as marinating, seasoning, and portioning ingredients
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow
Ensure all food served meets quality standards and presentation expectations
Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols within the kitchen environment

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Grill Chef or Steak Chef within a reputable restaurant or steakhouse
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation
Demonstrable experience in kitchen operations, including food safety practices
Excellent understanding of culinary principles related to steak and grilled dishes
Previous experience working in a fast-paced restaurant setting with high standards of service
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Serving experience is advantageous but not essential; a passion for delivering excellent customer service is vital
