Full job description

Overview

We're looking for a passionate, organised and creative chef to join the team at Common Ground Parbold. We're a modern high end coffee shop serving freshly baked pastries, homemade bakes and toasted sandwiches all made with quality ingredients and attention to detail.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape our kitchen as we continue to grow.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with attention to detail, presentation, and flavour.
Follow established recipes and kitchen procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety standards.
Assist in meal preparation for service periods, ensuring timely delivery of orders.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock rotation, and communicate supply needs.
Serve food efficiently and courteously to guests or team members, ensuring a positive experience.
Adhere to all health regulations and safety protocols to promote a safe kitchen environment.

Experience

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food safety practices and sanitation standards.
Demonstrated ability to prepare diverse meals with culinary skill and attention to detail.
Experience working in fast-paced environments while maintaining quality standards.
Familiarity with serving techniques and customer service principles is preferred.
Prior kitchen experience that showcases versatility in meal preparation is highly valued.
