Full job description

Job Summary

This is a full‑time, Monday to Thursday (Late shift 6PM -4AM) on‑site position at Micro Precision, part of the Regal Rexnord Group, based in Hemel Hempstead. You will join a highly skilled and collaborative team dedicated to producing high‑precision aerospace components. The role involves small to medium batch production with medium to high complexity, requiring a strong focus on accuracy and repeatability.

Your primary responsibility will be to set and operate Studer CNC grinding machines, ensuring all machining processes are optimised for precision, efficiency, and consistent quality. You will work to tight aerospace tolerances, support continuous improvement, and contribute to maintaining the high standards expected within an advanced manufacturing environment.

Duties

Set, operate, and manage Studer CNC grinding machines to produce high‑precision aerospace components
Monitor machining processes, making necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability
Conduct in‑process quality inspections to stringent aerospace tolerances
Interpret engineering drawings with a high level of precision and attention to detail
Maintain safe working practices and comply with all production and quality standards
Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure consistent, high‑quality output across the shift
Support routine machine maintenance, ensuring equipment is kept in good working order
Accurately complete tooling sheets, ensuring all amendments and updates are recorded correctly
Recall, amend, and save CNC programs, ensuring all changes are approved and stored in line with company procedures
Submit components for first‑off inspections, esuring full compliance with drawing and specification requirements
Prepare setups in advance, where practical, to support efficient workflow and minimise downtime

Experience

Experience setting and operating Studer CNC grinders and associated manual grinding machinery
Strong understanding of key mathematical principles, including basic trigonometry relevant to precision machining
Background in a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally within aerospace or high‑precision sectors
Demonstrated commercial awareness and professional conduct in day‑to‑day operations
Good standard of general education, with competent computer literacy and numerical skills
Exceptional attention to detail with steady hand‑eye coordination and a methodical approach
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently
Effective communication skills (written and verbal) for clear interaction with colleagues and inspectors
Ability to work to tight tolerances independently, maintaining consistency and quality without supervision
Resilience under pressure, with strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive mindset
High level of integrity, demonstrating reliability and accountability in all aspects of the role
Flexible approach to workload, including willingness to support overtime requirements aligned with production needs
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to team objectives, supporting a collaborative working environment

Pay: £21.00-£24.50 per hour
