Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to oversee daily kitchen operations in a dynamic hospitality environment. Someone who values serving good food and cares about the workplace. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes. The Kitchen Supervisor will play a vital role in maintaining efficient workflow and fostering a positive team atmosphere.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and food preparation personnel.
Oversee food production processes to ensure timely delivery of dishes that meet quality standards.
Assist with food preparation, cooking, and serving as needed to support team operations.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor stock rotation to minimise waste.
Train new staff members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and customer service expectations.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times.
Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and foster a collaborative team culture.
Liaise with restaurant management to coordinate menu planning and special event requirements.

Requirements

Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, and food preparation within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Previous management or supervising experience in a kitchen environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and organise a diverse team.
Extensive culinary experience with knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
Hospitality background with an understanding of customer service principles.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment such as a restaurant or café.
Barista experience is considered an advantage but not essential.
Demonstrated ability to supervise staff effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
