Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Curry Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production, kitchen management, and culinary arts, with a particular focus on preparing authentic curry dishes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team, ensure high standards of food safety, and deliver exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Applicants should demonstrate leadership qualities, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to culinary excellence.

Duties

Plan, prepare and present a variety of authentic Indian and Bangladeshi curry dishes.
Prepare and blend spices, herbs, marinades, sauces, meat and vegetables used in curry preparation.
Oversee preparation and cooking of traditional curries including Bhuna, Balti, Korma, Jalfrezi, Madras, Vindaloo, and house special dishes.
Monitor food quality, portion control, and consistency to maintain customer satisfaction and minimise wastage.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, cooking stations, and food preparation areas.
Follow strict food hygiene and health & safety standards at all times in food preparation, storage, and kitchen operations.
Manage stock control for the curry section and ensure management is informed of required supplies and ingredients.
Assist in planning menus and develop new curry dishes.

Experience

Proven experience in a professional kitchen setting, specialising in Indian cuisine or curry dishes
Supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
Strong background in food production, culinary techniques, and food safety standards
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
Knowledge of food presentation standards and hospitality best practices
