Full job description

The Company:

Due to continuing growth, a leading animal rendering business is looking for an enthusiastic, and experienced full-time accounts assistant. Combined turnover for the 5 companies within the group is £49m.

Assisting the existing finance team with the weekly and monthly reporting process.

Duties:

· Sales ledger experience including raising customer invoices

· Purchase ledger experience including:

o Matching invoices to PO’s & GRN’s

o Nominal coding

o Batch processing

o Weekly and monthly payment runs

· Petty cash processing and reconciliation

· Bank reconciliations

Person specification:

· Good working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts

· A basic understanding of VAT legislation

· Knowledge of foreign currency transactions

· Experience of Microsoft packages particularly Excel, Word and Outlook essential

· Minimum of 2 - 3 years’ recent experience in a varied accounts assistant role

· Excellent communication skills

· Attention to detail

· Ad-hoc administrative duties as and when necessary

A good awareness of deadlines and a calm manner are essential

Basic hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm with including half an hour for lunch. There may be some flexibility with start and finish times.

Starting salary dependent on experience up to £28k per annum

Pay: Up to £28,000.00 per year
