Full job description

WAITING STAFF

THE PACKAGE AT A GLANCE

Base Pay: £13 per hour
Bonus: Share of service charge and tips under the restaurant’s tronc policy, plus upselling rewards
Rewards: Holiday pay, pension, paid training, staff meals and discounts, company events, uniform and progression opportunities
Contract: Permanent; full-time and part-time
Hours: 30-48 hours per week
Location: Central Cardiff
Cashless Workplace: All customer payments are cashless; no cash handling is required

THE ROLE

This is an all-round front-of-house position. You will rotate between welcoming guests, waiting tables, running food and drinks, working behind the bar, processing payments and keeping service areas clean, stocked and ready.

We are looking for flexible hospitality generalists who can maintain high standards during busy service and support whichever area needs them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcome and seat guests, manage bookings and take responsibility for an allocated section.
Explain menus, specials, wines and cocktails accurately.
Take orders, follow allergen procedures and communicate clearly with the kitchen and bar.
Serve food and drinks, check back with guests and process cashless payments accurately.
Prepare beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and cocktails behind the bar.
Restock supplies and complete table resets, cleaning, opening and closing duties.
Support other front-of-house areas as demand changes.
Follow food-safety, licensing, responsible-service and health-and-safety procedures.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Previous restaurant or hospitality experience.
Willingness to rotate between guest reception, table service, bar work and cleaning duties.
Flexibility to work across all three Cardiff restaurant sites.
Availability for lunch, evening, weekend and split shifts.
Availability during key trading periods, including rugby internationals, Christmas, July and August, when annual leave is normally restricted.
A warm, professional approach with strong communication, teamwork and organisation.
Reliability, punctuality and composure during busy services.
Working English sufficient for orders, allergens and safety procedures.
The legal right to work in the UK and eligibility to serve alcohol.
A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate.
Excellent personal hygiene and a clean, professional appearance.
A pen and wine opener for every shift.
