The Role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable A-Level Physics Tutor to teach the WJEC A-Level Physics specification. The successful candidate must also be confident teaching A-Level Mechanics, as this forms an integral part of our programme.

Applicants should hold at least a BSc (Hons) degree in Physics or a closely related subject. A recognised teaching qualification or significant teaching/tutoring experience is desirable.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an excellent understanding of the WJEC A-Level Physics specification, which will be assessed during the interview process.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging 1 hour 15 minute tutorials covering specific topics from the WJEC A-Level Physics specification.
Prepare and teach clear, structured notes supported by examination-style and past paper questions.
Teach A-Level Mechanics to a high standard.
Develop students' understanding of examination techniques and WJEC mark schemes.
Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their target grades.
Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
Deliver intensive Easter and Whitsun revision courses as part of Spectrum Tutorials' revision programme.

Person Specification

BSc (Hons) degree in Physics or a closely related subject.
Excellent knowledge of WJEC A-Level Physics and Mechanics.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Well organised, reliable and enthusiastic.
Previous teaching or tutoring experience is desirable.

Additional Information

An Enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences.
Successful applicants will be expected to uphold the high academic standards and professional reputation of Spectrum Tutorials.

Pay: £40.00-£80.00 per hour
