Full job description

The Role

We are looking for an energetic and reliable Fruit & Veg Assistant to join our busy fresh produce team. In this role, you will be the heart of our department, ensuring our shelves are packed with vibrant, high-quality fruit and vegetables every day. You will also be preparing vegetables for our counters and coffee lounge.

Full time – 40 hours. Tuesday - Saturday, 6.00am-2.30pm

£13.45 per hour

Responsibilities

Receiving and checking deliveries of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Preparing fresh vegetables for our counters and coffee lounge.
Building and replenishing attractive fruit and vegetable displays.
Rotating stock to ensure maximum freshness and minimise waste.
Keeping accurate records.
Operating a variety of food preparation equipment.
Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic work environment.
Providing friendly and helpful customer service

Desirable requirements

Great communication skills
Keen eye for detail for quality control and food safety standards
Good customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Previous retail or food preparation experience is a plus, but full training will be given
