Full job description

Pay: £13.33p/h PLUS Sleep Shifts

We are looking for a part-time Youth Support Worker to join our Yeovil team, working 20+ hours per week of direct support, plus sleep shifts.

(current rate is £72.00 per night)

Job description:

You will be working in our Ofsted registered Supported Accommodation service with care experienced children and young people aged 16-18+.

You will contribute to an engaging, nurturing and supportive environment to enable a sense of belonging through community engagement, regular support and providing well maintained, high quality and homely accommodation.

You will have regular practice supervisions, which offer advice and guidance therapeutically.
You will be committed to your own development, growth and progression.
You will work varying shift patterns.
GFC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children you must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers, online and social media checks and the Disclosures Barring Service (DBS) clearance at enhanced level.

Deliver engaging, TAILORED support to promote independence whilst ensuring children and young people are safeguarded at all times.
SHARE your success and evaluate your practice to contribute to the evolution and improvement our service.

Desirable Skills

Experience working in a Supported Accommodation service or within Youth Services.
Experience in supporting vulnerable young people who find engaging socially and emotionally difficult at times.
An understanding of the legislation and guidance relating to the provision of Supported Accommodation services and social care for 16 -18 year olds and care leavers.
Awareness of Fire and Health and Safety Regulations.
Full, clean driving license and use of own vehicle with business insurance.
Awareness of Safeguarding and Protection procedures and regulations.

Pay: £13.33 per hour
