Full job description

Barista – 30 to 40 Hours | Coffee Under Pressure, st Marys Butts Reading location

Coffee Under Pressure is a specialty coffee shop in Reading with over 10 years of trading. We work with Direct Trade, SCA 80+ Arabica roasts and take our craft seriously — without taking ourselves too seriously. We're looking for a barista who wants to work somewhere that genuinely cares about the coffee and the people serving it.

We are looking for someone who is:

Passionate about coffee, food and hospitality
Willing to learn, curious and open to embracing new techniques and ideas
Responsible, punctual, self-disciplined and reliable
Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
Confident and engaging when dealing with customers
A team player who rolls up their sleeves — no task is beneath anyone here

Skills and qualifications:

Excellent customer service skills
Latte art skills
Experience brewing with V60 and Aeropress
Attention to detail and ability to multitask
Available to work weekends
Able to work in a clean and organised environment
A sense of humour!

Previous experience in specialty coffee is valued, and SCA training is a plus. That said, motivation, work ethic and outstanding hospitality always come first.
