Join RKC Special Projects

RKC Special Projects is growing, and we’re looking for a talented Facade Designer to join our team in Paddock Wood.

This is a great opportunity for a technically minded designer with experience in cladding, glazing, and building envelope systems to work on specialist façade, roofing, remediation, and new-build projects.

What You’ll Be Doing/Key Responsibilities

· Develop detailed façade design solutions for cladding, glazing, and building envelope systems.

· Prepare and coordinate shop drawings, elevations, sections, junction details, and setting-out information.

· Review architectural, structural, and project information to identify technical requirements and interfaces.

· Work closely with project managers, engineers, installers, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve design coordination issues.

· Support design approvals, technical submittals, RFIs, and change management throughout the project lifecycle.

· Ensure designs align with UK building regulations, fire safety requirements, project specifications, and company standards.

What We’re Looking For

· Experience in façade design, ideally across cladding, building envelope, new-build, or remediation projects.

· Confidence producing detailed shop drawings and technical design information.

· Practical knowledge of cladding systems, glazing, SFS, fixing methods, and interface details.

· Competence using CAD and/or BIM software such as AutoCAD or Revit.

· A good understanding of UK building regulations, façade performance requirements, and fire remediation considerations.

· Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
