About Us

The Brew Factory is a growing café in Cardiff city centre offering speciality coffee, bakery items, hot food, artisan gelato, milkshakes, sundaes, and other dessert drinks. We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and customer-focused team member to join our front-of-house team.

The Role

We are recruiting a Gelato & Desserts Team Member with Barista Experience to serve gelato and related products such as milkshakes, sundaes, and dessert drinks, while supporting day-to-day café service. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment and is ideal for someone who enjoys customer interaction, quality presentation, and working as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Serve gelato, milkshakes, sundaes, and dessert drinks to a high standard.
Prepare and present products consistently and attractively.
Provide excellent customer service in a friendly and professional manner.
Take customer orders and process payments accurately.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the gelato counter and service areas.
Follow food hygiene, allergen, and safety procedures at all times.
Support stock rotation, replenishment, and basic preparation tasks.
Assist the wider team during busy service periods.
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing friendly service
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of orders during busy periods
Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for colleagues and customers
Support team members during peak hours by sharing responsibilities and maintaining a positive attitude

Requirements

Previous experience in a café, gelato shop, dessert parlour, or customer-facing hospitality role.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and presentation.
Ability to work well in a busy environment.
Flexible availability, including weekends and bank holidays.
Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

Experience working with gelato, milkshakes, or dessert products.
Basic food hygiene knowledge.
Cash handling or till experience.
Previous experience in a café or hospitality setting.
