Barista Job Description

Main Responsibilities

Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks (espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, teas, etc.)
Operating coffee machines, grinders, and other café equipment
Taking customer orders and handling payments (cash and card)
Customising drinks based on customer preferences
Maintaining the cleanliness of the coffee bar, tables, and equipment
Restocking supplies (milk, beans, cups, syrups, etc.)
Following food safety and hygiene standards

Customer Service Duties

Greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner
Answering questions about menu items
Handling complaints politely and resolving issues where possible
Working efficiently during busy periods

Skills Required

Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to work quickly under pressure
Basic numeracy (for handling payments and change)
Attention to detail (especially for drink quality)
Teamwork

Optional / Preferred Experience

Previous café or hospitality experience (not always required)
