Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen interest in developing their skills within a busy kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in catering, cooking, and food safety standards while contributing to the smooth operation of our establishment.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food presentation under the supervision of senior kitchen staff
Support the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure hygiene standards are maintained
Help with ingredient organisation, storage, and stock replenishment
Prepare ingredients such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning for cooking or serving
Assist in serving meals to customers or staff in accordance with health and safety regulations
Follow all food safety procedures to ensure compliance with hygiene standards
Support the team during catering events or busy service periods as required
Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times

Skills

Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Willingness to learn new culinary skills and adapt to different roles within the kitchen setting

This position is ideal for individuals passionate about food service who are eager to develop their culinary expertise in a professional environment. The role involves supporting the kitchen team in delivering quality meals while ensuring safety and hygiene standards are upheld.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
