Full job description

Part-Time Hotel Receptionist

Lancashire Manor Hotel

We are looking for a friendly, professional and customer-focused Part-Time Hotel Receptionist to join the team at Lancashire Manor Hotel.

This is a 16-hour-per-week position, working two shifts per week. Shifts will be a mixture of early and late shifts, with weekend availability required as part of the role.

Previous hotel reception experience is required for this position. We are looking for someone who is confident working in a hotel environment and understands the importance of providing excellent guest service.

Hours of Work

16 hours per week
2 shifts per week
Early shifts: 7:00am – 3:00pm
Late shifts: 3:00pm – 11:00pm
Shifts may include weekends and bank holidays
Flexibility to work both early and late shifts is required

The Role

As a Hotel Receptionist, you will be one of the first points of contact for our guests and will play an important role in ensuring they receive a warm welcome and an enjoyable stay.

Your responsibilities will include:

Welcoming guests to the hotel in a friendly and professional manner
Checking guests in and out
Taking and processing reservations and booking enquiries
Answering telephone calls and dealing with email enquiries
Processing payments and ensuring guest accounts are accurate
Responding to guest requests and providing information about the hotel and local area
Dealing with guest queries and resolving issues in a calm and professional manner
Liaising with housekeeping and other hotel departments to ensure the smooth running of the hotel
Maintaining accurate reception records and completing general administrative duties
Ensuring reception and front-of-house areas are kept clean, tidy and presentable
Following hotel procedures for security, cash handling and health and safety
Assisting other departments when required
Providing consistently high standards of customer service throughout every guest interaction

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in hotel reception
Friendly, approachable and welcoming
Professional and well presented
Confident communicating with guests both face-to-face and over the telephone
Organised and able to prioritise tasks
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
Able to remain calm and professional when dealing with busy periods or challenging situations
Computer literate and comfortable learning new systems
Reliable, punctual and flexible
Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
