Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Catering Assistant to join our catering team for a weekend event in Nailsea, BS48, 12th-14th June 2026. This role offers entry-level experience in the catering industry by providing flexible weekend work on a mobile catering unit. The ideal candidate will be capable of working extended hours in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service, handling cash and card payments, and ensuring the overall smooth operation of catering services. Previous catering experience is not essential but is beneficial, however everything you need to know will be taught under supervision. Successful candidates may be offered additional dates for future events later in the summer if they would like further work.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items under supervision in accordance with established standards.
Serve meals and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring excellent customer service.
Support the setup and breakdown of catering units at events, including cleaning and packing away equipment with some very light manual work necessary
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and service areas, adhering to food safety regulations.
Deliver catering orders to customers as required, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment for colleagues and guests.

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality, food preparation, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
Skills in cooking, meal preparation, or culinary arts are beneficial.
Friendly and approachable manner with good communication skills
Basic arithmetic skills for dealing with cash or card transactions
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in fast-paced settings.
Physical ability to stand for extended hours during service
Must be able to drive to work or pitch a tent if sleeping on site
Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings if required; however, the role primarily involves daytime hours during catering events.

Pay: £12.50 per hour
