Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Carpet and Flooring Fitter to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and flooring installation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. This role offers an excellent opportunity for skilled tradespeople to utilise their expertise in a dynamic environment, contributing to the transformation of residential and commercial spaces. Applicants must be reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Duties:

Prepare surfaces for carpet and flooring installation, ensuring precise fitment according to client specifications
Remove old flooring safely and efficiently before installing new coverings
Lay carpets, vinyl, laminate, LVT or hardwood flooring using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry techniques
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
Maintain a clean work environment, including organising tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly
Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress or issues encountered during installation

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a carpet and flooring fitter
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry techniques relevant to flooring installation
An understanding of health and safety regulations pertaining to building sites
Ability to read measurements accurately and work with precision
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
A CSCS card is preferred but not essential
A full UK driver’s license
