Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Store Assistant to join our retail team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth store operations, providing excellent customer service, and supporting management in daily tasks. This position offers an opportunity to develop management skills and gain valuable experience in retail environments. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to work efficiently within a team.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries to enhance shopping experience
Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive product displays
Manage stock levels, organise stockroom, and assist with inventory checks
Operate cash registers, process transactions accurately, and handle payments efficiently
Support management in supervising staff during shifts, including training new team members
Assist in organising promotional activities and store events
Ensure the store remains clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly
Support administrative tasks such as stock ordering and record keeping

Skills

Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
Organised with strong time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively
Leadership qualities with previous supervising or team management experience preferred
Proven retail management or sales management experience is advantageous
Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and stock control
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Administrative experience supporting store operations is beneficial
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and efficiently
