Job Purpose
The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in the financial leadership and strategic development of FOAMtech Limited during a period of significant organisational change and growth.
This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring strong financial control, high quality reporting, and commercial insight, while also acting as a strategic partner to the senior leadership team. The role carries a clear progression pathway to Finance Director for the right individual.
The postholder will not only manage the finance function but will also contribute directly to shaping the long term direction, transformation, and scalability of the business. During the initial phases of growth and change, the role will require a hands on approach across both strategic and operational finance activities, supporting the wider business with essential day to day financial tasks. As the organisation evolves, these responsibilities will progressively transition into a more strategic and leadershi focused remit.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Control
- Lead the day to day finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Oversee management accounts, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Maintain robust financial controls, systems, and processes
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, audit processes, and financial regulations
- Take a hands on role where required in core financial processes (including transactional oversight and support), particularly during periods of transition or team development
Business Partnering & Commercial Support
- Act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team
- Provide high quality financial insight to support commercial decision making
- Analyse business performance and identify opportunities for improvement in profitability and efficiency
- Support pricing, margin analysis, and cost control initiatives
- Work closely with operational teams, providing practical financial support and input at both strategic and operational levels
Strategy & Transformation
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the business’s long term strategy
- Support and lead financial aspects of business transformation and change initiatives
- Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
- Assist in shaping scalable finance structures to support business growth
- Play an active role in building and embedding processes that enable the business to scale effectively, initially through direct involvement and execution
Leadership & Development
- Manage and develop the finance function as the business evolves
- Support the development of the finance function
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
- Provide leadership while remaining adaptable and willing to support across all levels of the finance function as required
Governance & Risk
- Oversee statutory reporting and ensure compliance with relevant financial legislation
- Manage external audit processes and liaise with auditors and advisors
- Identify and mitigate financial risks across the business

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance leadership role
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience within SME environments, ideally manufacturing, distribution, or industrial sectors
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem solving skills
- Hands on experience with financial systems, controls, and reporting processes
- Willingness and ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels within a growing business
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in a business undergoing growth, transformation, or change
- Exposure to scaling finance functions or implementing system/process improvements
- Demonstrable ambition to progress into a Finance Director role

Career Progression
This role is designed as a development opportunity into a Finance Director position. The successful candidate will be expected to progressively take on broader strategic responsibilities as the business grows, with increasing involvement in executive decision making. As the finance function matures, the role will evolve from a hands on position into a more strategic leadership role with greater delegation and team oversight.

Pay: £50,000.00 per year
