Job Overview

Office Administrator

Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: Mon- Fri 7.30am – 5pm, 3 week rota for Saturday shift 8am – 12noon.

Job Type: Full time, permanent, Salaried

Location: Colwick, Nottingham NG4 2JR

Job Description

The administration officer is responsible for various tasks within the office, these include (but are not restricted) to:

- weighing customers in and out on the weighbridge, input pricing, producing tickets, and obtaining the relevant information/ID to process payment.

- Reception duties, including directing visitors and customers on site, answering the telephone, organisation within the office to ensure good presentation, filing etc

- Assistance for buyers out on the road with paperwork, organisation and follow up correspondence.

- A creative ability to produce high quality professional marketing material and social media posts to advertise and grow the business.

It is desirable to have:

- a good understanding of general purchasing and sales processes to aid in the concept of producing relevant paperwork and liaising with suppliers and customers face to face, via email or over the telephone.

- have the ability to use initiative, show self control and be open minded to resolve issues when required. To take the lead in the office to know as much as possible about the business and processes to assist both employees and customers with day to day queries.

- ability to thrive under pressure in a busy environment , multi-task when required and to work off initiative and self manage when not so busy to find improvements of existing processes.

- ability to become familiar with pricing structures and material grades to compile self-bills where relevant.

- understanding of the data protection requirements and ensure the internal processes are compliant.

- ability to effectively enforce health and safety regulations for customers and visitors on site.

Skills

Must be competent in all aspects of office administration, computer skills required to use word, excel and outlook. Training provided for internal weighbridge software. A minimum of 5 years office experience preferably with supervisor skills to show confidence and ability to lead and use initiative.

Good telephone manner and a friendly persona a must to ensure customers feel comfortable and confident with the service they receive. Ability to multi-task and to stay calm and focused under pressure is essential. A positive and can do attitude is imperative and in return all the training and support you require to make an office environment your own. A friendly small but effective team awaits the right person to help strive for perfection and feel valued and a vital part of the team.
