Full job description

Contract: Cheshire East Highways

Location: Crewe

Contract Type: Permanent

We are looking for an Engineer to join our Design team based at Delamere House, Crewe. Reporting to the Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a portfolio of highway, civil engineering and traffic management schemes from feasibility through to construction. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects while developing your career within a supportive and forward-thinking team

The Role

Deliver highway, civil engineering and traffic management schemes from concept through to construction
Undertake feasibility studies and detailed design work for a variety of local infrastructure projects.
Develop practical and compliant engineering solutions to technical challenges.
Manage projects through all stages, ensuring delivery is safe, efficient and compliant.
Prepare technical designs, specifications, reports and programmes of work
Support successful project delivery within agreed timescales and budgets.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, local authorities and members of the public.
Ensure designs meet relevant legislation, standards and specifications
Maintain accurate project documentation and records
Provide technical guidance and support to junior colleagues.

Job Description

About You

Experience in highway design and a good understanding of relevant legislation.
Knowledge of highway law, procedures and Traffic Regulation Orders.
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and confident using Microsoft Office applications.
Able to manage multiple priorities and contribute to successful project delivery
Strong problem-solving skills with a practical and collaborative approach.
Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders.
HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering would be advantageous.
Membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable
Experience managing project costs and programmes would be beneficial.
Full UK driving licence essential
