Summary

Coppull St Johns CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic Out of School Club Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of a safe, engaging and inclusive after-school provision, helping to create a positive environment where children can play, relax and develop socially.

Working Pattern

8.66 hours per week
Monday to Thursday
3:20pm 5:30pm

This is a term time only position.
Contract Type
Fixed Term (Maternity Cover), September 2026 to May 2027, or until the substantive post holder returns

Key Responsibilities
Supervise and engage children in a range of play and leisure activities
Plan and deliver appropriate activities in line with the needs of the children
Support a safe, positive and inclusive environment
Prepare and serve snacks and maintain cleanliness of the club area
Record attendance and communicate effectively with parents and staff
Work independently on a day-to-day basis, using initiative appropriately, with support available from senior staff including the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school procedures at all times
Maintain high levels of confidentiality

Essential Criteria
Ability to relate well to children
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Reliable, organised and flexible approach to work

Desirable Criteria
Experience of working with or caring for children
Relevant childcare qualification
