Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in casual dining kitchens/ pubs, with a passion for food preparation and cooking. This role requires excellent leadership skills to manage kitchen operations, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. The Head Cook will be responsible for creating innovative menus, maintaining food safety protocols, and fostering a positive working environment for kitchen staff.

Duties

Oversee all aspects of food preparation and cooking in the kitchen.
Develop and design creative menus that reflect current culinary trends while meeting customer preferences.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and ensure efficient operations.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements as necessary to enhance efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
Strong culinary skills with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong leadership abilities to inspire and motivate a team of chefs and kitchen staff.
Previous experience in menu planning and recipe development is highly desirable.
