Job Type: Non-Teaching

Salary Scale: NJC Scale A

Type of Agreement or Contract: Supply, potentially leading to a permanent role.

Working Time: 6.30-8.30am

Working Weeks: Term - Time Only (38 Weeks) With occasion whole school training being accessed on Training Days as overtime and some contracted hours during the school holidays, timings negotiable

DBS Required: Yes

About the Role:

We are looking to appoint experienced / keen to learn cleaning staff to enhance our busy, thriving, nurturing school.

This role offered is a permanent post following a successful 6mth probabtion period.

We are looking for a hard-working individual who is passionate about achieving an excellent environment for all children and staff. The successful applicant will be resilient and a great team player. They will be committed to providing the very best for the children and staff in our school.

We are a caring two-form entry Infant School supporting children aged 2-7yrs.

We have an inclusive, nurturing ethos, within calm, attachment and trauma aware settings. All adults in our school treat each other and children with respect and kindness. The mental health and well-being of children, staff and parents is a constant driving force at Cedars.

Training and CPD will be offered if required.

Our successful applicant will support our existing cleaning team to maintain their already high standards of cleanliness throughout the school, ensuring that areas are safe and ready to access.

All staff are supported through a cycle of Supervision Meetings with their Line manager, on a regular basis.

Main roles and responsibilities:-

To clean specified areas within the school in accordance with the school’s standards. Work is undertaken under the guidance of the caretaker / cleaning supervisor

TYPICAL TASKS

Cleaning of classrooms, offices, corridors and toilet areas etc

Ensure safe and effective use and storage of all equipment

Be aware of Health and Safety at Work regulations and COSHH guidelines

Draw to caretaker’s attention any problems / issues which may affect the safety or security of the school or its users.

Key Requirements: -

- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read instructions and work out simple measurements.

- Able to operate equipment and use materials

- Understands and can work to procedures, follow straightforward instructions and read labels.

- Can identify straightforward solutions to simple problems, eg improving working methods, rearranging cleaning schedules

- Can exchange straightforward information with colleagues and users

- Able to initiate ideas and put them into practice.

- Be a real team player for the good of the staff, children and school as a whole; developing good personal relationships within a team.

- To competently use clear, grammatically correct spoken and written English.

- A flexible approach to challenge and change. The successful candidate should be physically fit.
