Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and welcoming Hotel Receptionist to join our front desk team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic hospitality environment, where organisational skills and a friendly demeanour are essential.
Please note that this is a full time position, the successful candidate is expected to work at least 45 hours a week.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with the check-in and check-out procedures
Handle guest enquiries efficiently via phone, email, or in person, maintaining excellent phone etiquette
Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the hotel management system
Provide information about hotel amenities, local attractions, and services to enhance guest experience
Process payments accurately and issue receipts in accordance with hotel policies
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest rooms are prepared to high standards
Maintain a tidy and organised reception area at all times
Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues effectively
Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and reporting as required

Requirements

Previous experience in hotel reception or guest services is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable
Demonstrable phone etiquette and customer service skills
Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and procedures is advantageous
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Friendly, approachable manner with a professional appearance
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
