Full job description

Overview
The Inbound Raw Material Planner is responsible for the operational planning, ordering, and management of raw materials to ensure uninterrupted supply to manufacturing across two sites.

The role focuses on maintaining material availability, managing supplier deliveries, and ensuring accurate system data, delivering a high level of service to internal stakeholders and supporting efficient factory operations.

Responsibilities

Material Planning & Ordering

Review demand and stock positions to ensure raw materials are available in line with production requirements across two sites
Send forecasts and raise purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner
Expedite orders where required to minimise supply risk

Stock Management

Monitor stock levels and safety stock requirements
Proactively identify and mitigate risks to material availability (shortages, delays, supply issues)

Supplier Coordination & Delivery Management

Liaise directly with suppliers to manage delivery schedules and confirmations
Work closely with Warehouse teams to coordinate inbound deliveries and booking slots
Manage and resolve issues relating to over-deliveries, shortages, and non-conformances

Order & System Management

Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in SAP, including delivery dates and order status
Track all open purchase orders and ensure timely follow-up on overdue or at-risk deliveries

Stakeholder Communication

Provide clear and timely communication to key stakeholders regarding supply risks, delays, and resolutions
Work closely with Production Planning, Warehouse, and Procurement teams to ensure alignment

Operational Performance Support

Support delivery of key procurement KPIs including:
Material availability
Supplier delivery performance
Invoice match rate and reduction of discrepancies
Highlight demand or consumption changes to the buying team where contractual coverage may be impacted

Experience required

Experience in a material planning, supply chain, or procurement support role preferred
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience using ERP systems (SAP and SAGE desirable)
Ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

This is a fixed term contract for a period of 11 months.

Proactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolution
Food industry experience desirable but not essential

Pay: £30,000.00 per year
