Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Night Senior Carer to join our compassionate care team. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee overnight care operations within a warm and welcoming care home environment. Your primary focus will be ensuring the safety, well-being, and comfort of residents during the night shift, while providing guidance and supervision to junior staff. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead with confidence, uphold high standards of care, and make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives through proactive support and excellent communication.

Duties

Lead and supervise the night team to deliver exceptional care aligned with individual care plans.
Monitor residents’ safety, health, and well-being throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or concerns.
Ensure accurate documentation of resident activities, medication administration, and incident reports using IT systems.
Review and update care plans regularly in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior carers, fostering a positive team environment built on leadership and respect.
Maintain a safe environment by conducting regular checks of the premises, including fire safety procedures and security protocols.
Communicate effectively with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care and seamless support for residents.
Support residents’ emotional needs through active listening, reassurance, and personalized engagement during overnight hours.

Experience

Proven supervisory or leadership experience within a care home or senior care setting.
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members.
Experience in developing or following detailed care plans tailored to individual needs.
Familiarity with IT systems used for documentation and care management is essential.
Previous experience supervising staff during night shifts is highly desirable.
