Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Assistant/Barista to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages and light food items, ensuring excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop barista skills and gain experience within the hospitality sector. The ideal applicant will be organised, attentive to detail, and passionate about delivering a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, adhering to company standards.
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, or other light snacks.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station and dining area in accordance with food safety standards.
Take customer orders accurately and process transactions efficiently using the POS system.
Provide friendly and professional service to all customers, addressing any queries or special requests promptly.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
Follow health and safety regulations diligently, including proper handling of food and beverages.
Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery.

Skills

Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene.
Previous barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Experience in serving customers in a hospitality environment.
Basic food preparation skills for assembling light snacks or meals.
Good numerical skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.

Pay: £12.21-£15.04 per hour
