Full job description

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive bookkeeper to support our growing diversified rural business.

Based near Brackley, our business includes:

- Arable farming

- Residential and commercial property

- B&B, campsite and events

- Other rural enterprises

You’ll join a small, friendly team of two full-time and one part-time staff, working flexibly between home and our countryside office.

We’re looking for someone with strong experience of **Xero** who can help us improve and streamline our financial systems, moving from quarterly reporting towards more live financial management and reporting. Experience with Microsoft 365 and integrating business systems would be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Bill processing and payments

- Raising sales invoices

- VAT returns

- Bank reconciliations

- Limited credit control

- Small amount of payroll administration in the future.

- Producing management and financial reports

- Budgeting and cashflow reporting

- Liaising with our chartered accountants for year-end accounts

The role will also involve helping develop efficient processes and supporting colleagues with invoice creation and basic data entry where required.

The ideal person would:

- Strong bookkeeping experience

- Confident Xero user

- Good IT skills and comfortable with Microsoft 365

- Organised and self-motivated

- Good communicator

- Able to suggest and implement improvements

Initially, additional time may be required to help develop systems and processes. Once established, we anticipate the role requiring approximately 10-16 hours per week, although we are flexible and open to discussion.

We can offer flexibility on:

- Working hours and hourly rate is negotiable

- Days worked

- Home or office working
