Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring the well-being of those in their care. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives while working within a supportive team environment.

Duties

Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
Help with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
Administer medication following care plans and instructions from healthcare professionals
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
Maintain accurate records of care provided in accordance with organisational policies
Follow care plans meticulously to meet individual needs and preferences
Support clients with light domestic tasks such as laundry and cleaning
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care

Skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
Strong organisational skills to follow detailed care plans accurately
IT literacy for maintaining electronic records and documentation
Compassionate nature with genuine interest in caring for others
Good driving skills and a valid driving licence are desirable for home care roles
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a care home or community setting
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
