Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Practice Accountant to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and supporting clients with their accounting needs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in financial management and accounting software within a dynamic environment. The Practice Accountant will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance, contributing to the overall success of our practice.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports in accordance with recognised accounting standards.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other relevant platforms to maintain accurate financial records.
Support clients with financial management tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities in collaboration with external auditors or tax authorities.
Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices in financial accounting.
Ensure all financial data is accurately entered, reconciled, and maintained in accordance with organisational policies.
Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Practice Accountant or similar role within a professional environment.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other relevant platforms.
Strong understanding of financial services, financial management principles, and accounting standards.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Demonstrated mentoring skills and the ability to support team development.
Knowledge of accounts payable processes and general financial accounting practices.
Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA are desirable but not essential.
Ability to work independently whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
