Full job description

Forklift Driver (Counterbalance) – Afternoon Shift

Location: Rainham, Essex
Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:00pm – 8:00pm
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Overtime: £15.00 per hour (as required)

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Forklift Driver to join our busy warehouse and logistics team. This is a permanent afternoon shift position, working 12:00pm to 8:00pm, with overtime available and expected when business demands require.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a counterbalance forklift.
Load and unload vehicles efficiently and safely.
Load export containers and unload import containers.
Move, store, and organise stock within the warehouse.
Carry out daily equipment checks and report any defects.
Maintain high standards of health and safety and housekeeping.
Work closely with the warehouse and transport teams to ensure smooth operations.

Essential Requirements

Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Ability to work the fixed afternoon shift (12:00pm – 8:00pm).
Willingness to work overtime when required.
Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Desirable Skills & Experience

HGV shunter experience.
Experience loading export containers and unloading import containers.
Experience working in a fast-paced logistics or distribution environment.

Pay & Benefits

£13.50 per hour standard rate.
£15.00 per hour overtime rate.
£50 per week additional bonus for applicants with HGV shunter experience who carry out shunting duties.
£500 quarterly quality bonus, subject to qualifying performance criteria.
Permanent, full-time position.
