Overview

Join our kitchen team as a Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant and become an essential part of delivering exceptional dining experiences at the Rocket Store. This energetic role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant hospitality environment, supporting culinary operations and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen. Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support chefs and kitchen staff
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently
Ensure all kitchen equipment and surfaces are sanitized and organized according to health and safety standards
Support the setup and breakdown of food stations during service periods
Help with stock rotation, storage, and inventory management to keep supplies well-organized
Follow safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service times

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is highly desirable but not essential; enthusiasm is key!
Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and kitchen hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
Good physical stamina for standing for extended periods and lifting moderate loads
A genuine interest in culinary arts and hospitality industry growth opportunities
